Thalapathy Vijay's 2005 romantic comedy Sachein has been re-released in theatres on April 18, 2025, to commemorate its 20th anniversary. Directed by John Mahendran and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, the film stars Vijay alongside Genelia D’Souza and Bipasha Basu.
The re-release features a digitally restored version of the film, offering enhanced visuals and sound quality. A notable addition is a brand-new title card featuring Vijay, which has delighted fans and added to the excitement surrounding the re-release.
Advance bookings for the re-release have seen a positive response, with over 9,000 tickets sold across 75 shows in Tamil Nadu, generating approximately ₹12 lakh in revenue.
The re-release of Sachein follows the successful re-release of Vijay's earlier film Ghilli, which set a precedent for bringing classic Tamil films back to the big screen.
